It was held last 28th May at Stresa on the Lake Maggiore, in the wonderful setting of Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees, the party for the 50° anniversary of activity of OMSG.
Present at this important event, in addition to management and employees, agents and the most important Italian and foreign customers who over the past fifty years have made all over the world the success of OMSG.
The day had its official moment with the speeches of the President Mr. Enzo Dell’orto who traced the milestones in the history of OMSG, the various phases that have characterized both the technical developments and the internationalization of the company, the various moments that have characterized the most important since its foundation, with a thought always given to its founder, Mr. Vincenzo Dell'Orto, who has skillfully created and led the company for forty years.
After the speech of the President the General Manager Mr. Arrigucci Enzo who has traced the main stages of the company through the memory of people, those who have made OMSG’s history.
This was followed by responses from people who have brought interesting testimonies of 50 years of collaboration and results made of each other's successes.
The day followed with a drink in the splendid gardens of the Grand Hotel des Iles Borromees and a subsequent lunch, after which guests were able to move to the Borromeo Islands to end a wonderful day of celebration.

What are shot blast machines and how do they work?
The shot blast machines (or commonly defined “sandblasting machines”) are machines used for the surface treatment of work-pieces, usually metallic, by means of metallic abrasive projection.
The abrasive is projected by centrifugal wheels (or by air compressed guns in case of automatic blasting unit).
The blasting process has different purposes depending by the specific application. The most common are:
a) Surface preparation before painting
b) Decoring (sand removing)
c) Removal of oxides and calamine
d) Descaling (removal of small burrs)
e) Surface hardening (shot-peening)
f) Paint removal
Other specific applications are: marble and concrete treatment (antiquing or bush-hammering), thermohardening (with nylon abrasive, for small burrs), etc.
In addition to the most common carbon steel abrasive, shot blast machines can also work with other types of abrasives such as: stainless steel abrasive, aluminum abrasive, nylon abrasive, brass abrasive, zinc abrasive, ceramic abrasive, etc..
